How it's made
- Measure the song. Kick onsets fit a 132.005 BPM grid (p90 residual 9 ms), and a 2/4 bar is found in the breakdown. Demucs isolates the vocal, and wav2vec2 force-aligns all 227 words. The alignment is checked against the original video's subtitle changes.
- Design. GPT Image sheets fix the idol, cast and sets in one cut-paper riso style.
- Draw. A deterministic Canvas 2D engine renders every frame as a pure function of song time. It uses paper cuts with deckled edges and shadows, misregistered riso ink, halftone, and kinetic type locked to sung onsets.
- The concept. The painted world runs like stop-motion at 8 fps and speeds up chorus by chorus until it is fully smooth when the singularity arrives. Then it freezes for "Was it all for show?".
- Render. Headless Chrome paints frames in parallel chunks, and ffmpeg muxes the untouched original audio.
